Diffusion of Innovation Theory: The Adoption Curve
In every society, there are specific segments of the population that try a new product or adopt a new behavior at different stages. Early adopters are quick to try a new product before anyone else while laggards are the last to try something and may not try it at all. In this short video, we introduce you to each of these different types of people in society and explain why they try new things when they do.

Where can I learn more about this?
Simple and informative. Thanks.
funny how sometimes a laggard who is so devoid of exposure to media, can be the innovator that comes up with a unique original idea
Hello! Thanks for thr great video. This is the first time I encountered this theory, since my supervisor asked me to read on this theory. I am interested if anyone could like call and learn together about this theory, just for once. I understand a bit, but I am quite confused on which part of this behaviour etc could be applied for my own study.
Straight & Simple. Thanks a million!

Why are the haggard brown, when we know much of the cultural innovation (innovators) in America came from and cones from African Americans?

Other references show 13.5% for the early adopters.

In terms of trends, I choose to be a laggard or the later majority. I didn’t play Fortnite until it was past its prime, and I didn’t start dabbing until it started to become less popular.
well explained, well detailed, clearly understood in preparation of exams
This video is a useful and simple explanation of diffusion of innovations and how we can tailor marketing based on the type of adopter/group. I look forward to sharing it with my colleagues. I wonder if the video can be edited slightly so the different groups are made of people with different skin tones, instead of all the people in the βlaggersβ group having brown skin tones.
Thank you for this. A question: What does the gap in the curve between the Early Adopters and the Early Majority represent?
Trying to figure out what my JoAnn consumers should be. Late Majority perhaps?
Short, simple and understandable. Thankyou
Interesting
