  2. Hi.. How to connect Quad theater with TV and set top box…. I Did TV to Quad with HDMI ARC and set top box to TV…. TV own app content has good sound on Quad Home theater but very normal sound come for Set top box on Quad Theatre… please suggest if any other mode I can use for better 4K sound for Set top box on Quad theater

  3. I will get these with the sub 5 hopefully in the next 2 months … I own a Sony a90j so I will hook it up as a center speaker

  4. Thank you for your review! I currently have a Bose Lifestyle 650, but I’m considering switching to Bravia Quad. Would this be an upgrade or a downgrade? My main reasons for considering this change are that my current system doesn’t support Dolby Atmos and lacks wireless capability.

  5. How it’s good for only music listening in Home leaving room ? Are they Audiophile speakers ?

  6. Saludos amigos…

  7. Hi guys. Do u have a disclosure on your review. I just want to know if Sony sponsored you in any way to review it?

  8. Awesome system…bought it last month…its one of the best home theatre systems paird with s500 sub….really blown away.

  9. I am planning to build a home theater in the near future and am seriously considering these (with the bigger sub Sony offers). I am kind of in the middle between a proper audiofile who wants everything prefect and a movie enthusiast who just wants very good and simple. This system looks like it will hit that sweet spot in between for me, but I am still on the fence for one big thing. Apart from adding a sub this system cant be expanded later where a normal high quality wired system can add more if / when its needed. If Sony would Let you add on one of their nice sound bars instead of the lame duck TV speakers or let you buy an extra 1 or 2 of these speakers to further enhance the system and perhaps let you connect 2 subs I would buy this system in a heart beat. I probably wouldn’t even do those extra upgrades if they were available, but having the option would give me piece of mind that my $3k sound system has longevity enough to make it worth the cost.

  10. Does anyone actually think the quad looks better than the A9? The Quad may sound amazing, the A9 sounds amazing, but it’s just kinda blah.

  11. A 15 year old Yamaha av + speaker combo for $300 will sound much much much much much better than this.

  12. I am totally convinced by the design and as soon as there is a matching subwoofer in the same color I will buy the system.

  13. Calling these 3 way speakers is kinda misleading. Usually 3-way speakers are full range speakers, that is their is a tweeter for the highs, a Mid driver for the mids, and a subwoofer for the low end sounds. A full range speaker should play between 20-28,000hz. I don’t think the Quad can play anywhere close to 20hz even with the SW5 subwoofer (I think it’s closer to 40hz with the SW5). Bigger speakers will always have an advantage over smaller speakers, its a physics issue, sound processing can help and has helped a lot. I have the A9, and for simplicity the A9 is amazing, but if you are used to good quality towers, you will notice the trade offs and how Sony used their amazing processing to make the A9’s sound magical. Their were 2 big issues with the A9 that drive me nuts (especially as its such an expensive systems), first the drop outs. They don’t happen all the time, but when they do you really notice it especially in the dialog, and it happens so spontaneous you don’t know if its the source material or the signal or what, but its always the A9 dropping one of the speakers for a period of time and then reconnecting. The 2nd issue is the lack of mid level. If you are coming from a system like a good pair of towers or bookshelf speakers or 5.1 with a receiver, you probably will notice the sound is not as good. If you are coming from listening to your TV speakers than the A9 or Quad or just about any sound bar will blow your TV speakers away. The A9/Quad is a fantastic solution to get amazing sound in any room with ease. Still wish it had a proper center.

  14. Anyone knows what’s the overhead clearance requirement for these? I can’t find any info online. I need to place them on a shelf

  15. Hi, what if I dont have any room behind my couch to put the rear speakers, as it’s against the wall, should I put the rears on the wall slight above but at the side, or just put it at a side like on a side table will do.

  16. Good review, had mine for over 3 weeks now, have it paired with SW5 and very impressed, had my A9’s for 2 years and enjoyed them very much and only had the occasional drop out. The sound is way beyond what the A9’s produced. Very happy with the product and so is the wife especially when it comes to voice clarity , yes it’s more money than I wanted to spend but selling my A9’s helped in that area.

  17. Does this Quad system have a similar "All Stereo" function like the Nakamichi Dragon does? Where you can use all speakers to have the same output for talk radio or live sports?

  18. For $2500 It absolutely should beat any soundbar at that price point. Personally, id be looking at a full avr (even going as far as to buying used speakers and receivers if necessary.) Something a few years old but has brilliant sound clarity and range is where my money is going. Theres like a 500%+ markup on this thing.

  19. I will be buying this system. I have already had a demonstration at my residence along with SA-SW5 subwoofer. It is awesome. I am getting my house renovated. I plan to have the rear speakers mounted on the wall on either side of the bed. Can someone guide me on how I should cater for the electrical connection wiring for the rear speakers when the electrical wiring for the house is being installed?

  20. It has one HDMI in and 1 HDMI out, wondering how it can be connected if I have many other devices than the TV like blue ray player, x box..etc ? wireless?

  21. Have you also tested non-perfect sound sources such as streaming services like YouTube, Netflix or Amazon Prime? My experience with the A9 has shown that the center sound quality drops drastically with suboptimal sound sources and then an unpleasant stereo effect is noticeable.

  22. I’m using the 85 in sony bravia 9 and I’m very interested in getting the sony quad cn you do a review please

  23. Greetings from India. I’m using the HTA 9 ( with a 75inch inch Sony TV) for over an year now and my experience has been nothing but exceptional. No drop outs at all ( which I resolved by resetting the setup again) and the dialogue is spectacular. I love the minimalist icon look and the lack of wires. A clean look and I’m wondering if it’s worth an upgrade to M2? In India, we get very good prices for used systems especially if it’s a Sony.

  24. I’d be interested in further testing using the new Bravia tvs speakers with this system! Also going so far to test them against the Bravia tvs with speakers vs those with acoustic surface technology.

  25. I am seriously considering hta9 M2 for my home setup. However my only concern is that I’ll have to pair the system with a Samsung OLED TV. Will i miss out on any major features?

  26. What angle doe they work best at or does that matter? Like straigh in line with the TV or angled to the seating?
