  1. ive had my bmw 435i as a daily for 2 years and its perfect APART FROM isnt amazing on fuel, usual parts like tyres are crazy expensive

  2. I would add Porsche Macan 1st Gen as well. The old one may have the transfer case issues but those are absolute banger and 2015-2017 you may fine some base under 20k. Maintenance is the key for any Porsche.

  3. If it’s a unibody "SUV", CUV, or whatever other Starbucks vehicle…. it’s a boring vehicle.
If it’s the knockoff Honda brand – you know the one that spent decades ripping of Honda’s branding etc. – it’s embarrassing.

  4. Great find as I’m in the market for a new daily and I’ve been eyeing up 3 series manual wagons. Did you guys not get the 330s in NA? why the 328?

  5. Just got me a 2010 328ix wagon.
I drive in too much traffic so I went with the automatic, but it’s got sport package so I’ve got paddle shifters for hitting the twistys. Nice to see it got a mention.

  6. > puts "reliable" in title

    > every option is a garbage german car that will break down every 5 feet and cost $4k to repair each time.

  7. An acceptable adjacent example to the Corvette would also be a 5th Gen Camaro SS. Surprisingly cheap to maintain and not too bad on the gas either!

  8. You’re too late spiderman, i already bought a 2020 Honda Civic EX-L, and i definitely do not regret not getting a Golf. (Fuck)

  9. I’m biased but I think that the non-sport Mitsubishi Outlander GT with the V6 is one of the best possible vehicles under 10K someone can get if they want something to daily drive but also escape into the mountains or desert on the weekend. I got mine with 112K miles and after changing the spark plugs and transmission fluid in particular, it drives like new.

  10. I dailied my s2000 for about 2 years, so I can confirm that they’re amazing for dailying. Great in the snow, surprisingly.

  11. I have to mention the mazdaspeed 3. It’s a Focus ST with a factory lsd and cheaper. I prefer the gen 1 looks but gen 2 is basically the same car

  12. This is super interesting to me. Because I recently saw an interview with the VW CEO. He was asked if they are scared of Chinese companies. He replied “We did not flinch when the Japanese came with their cars. We didn’t flinch when the Koreans came. And we do not flinch now.” He explained that the Chinese targe groups are significantly younger than the target groups of VW. And that the mentally of the people who buy those cars are differently. The interview was made just after VW passed Tesla in EV car salsa in Europe. He said that VW customers are more pragmatic while Chinese customers are more playful. VW drivers like their haptical buttons. They want it to work well and function. Not to be alway as fancy as possible. No Passat VR6 diver wants an all clean interior without buttons or drive train. In china that’s different. So VW focuses on the people who want a good drivin experience and evolutionary progress rather than beating Tesla in more screens and less buttons. They will focus in their roots. And I think that is the right way. Not for me. Becaus I like Audi. But they are amazing cars (except the T-Cross) and go back to physical buttons and switches. Because that is what people like.

  13. As a crosstrek owner, a modded 6mt is objectively cool and amazingly practical. I get more comments with this car than most "cool cars", and EVERY mechanic asks if I’m looking to sell it lol

  14. If you keep a cleanish cut look. And keep your car realtively clean? A 2004-2008 TL is your car. Fast, clean looks, and stoopid cheap to maintain/repair. Look for one that someone kept up with the transmission fluid/filter change? You have a hot winner. Tires and AC pump are the legit the priciest parts for more than basic maintenence. Plus you look sharp af driving it.

  15. at the average price of $15,000 – $20,000 for a honda s2000 i think there are better cars to get for that price like a brz/frs/gr86
