  1. Cloud control only. Hard NO from me until that goes away. Even HACS integration requires login from the app.

  2. i wonder if there’s a limit to what he can do with automations really he’s already got an extremely good house setup so where do you go from there?

  3. I have only owned Dyson fans/air purifiers for the past 7 or so years, but Dreo came to my attention recently. Their myriad product options is confusing though. For instance, on their website they have the TurboPoly Fan 704S and 715S, but in your video you are showing off a model 707. Was the 707 meant to be 704 or 715?

The main appeal to me is the motion tracking, that seems potentially amazing. Is that only available in the one tower fan β€” which is either the 704, 707 (?) or 715?? Thank you so much if anyone has any insight. Their website seems intentionally confusing with the endless marketing jargon, so I can’t figure this out myself!

  4. You are so HOT man ! I am a huge fan of fans … obsessed with one in my bedroom to sleep…. love the sensor under the mattress idea. Really interesting, love your vids and your passion!

  5. I purchased a Dreo fan last summer after noticing its frequent appearances on YouTube. I was quite pleased with my purchase. It’s wonderful to explore the home automation possibilities with my Dreo fan and Home Assistant, thank you for the helpful video.

  6. if i get this fan i’m going to need an automation to play ambient fan sounds so i can fall asleeep

  7. In lieu of opening a window, how is an AC unit lowering CO2 levels in the room? That’s just not something that naturally happens unless a scrubber of some sort is involved.

  8. Hopefully this gives you some fresh automation ideas for summer! The automations can be applied to any devices, but if you want to check out DREO fans there are links in the description.

  9. I love my fan automation that turns on and off by room temp. My only issue is when the room is not above the on temp but we want the manual activation of the switch to override the automation and leave the fan on even though it’s below the temp threshold.

  10. Some really great ideas in this video. I bought my first two Dreo fans while watching. Buhbye Dyson! πŸ˜‚

  11. Kinda surprised that Flair hasn’t reached out to you. I get it that Dreo has, but Flair needs more attention. It’s a good product

  12. Can you actually turn on fan noise on a Dreo? I prefer the noise in my bedroom to fall asleep to

  13. I laughed at the matrass one πŸ˜€ ! Also very much appreciated the home assistant specification over the other 2 πŸ˜€

  14. Love it. I live in Miami and just moved into a home with uneven AC all over the place. Thank you!!!

  15. Thanks for this. I had the exact opposite problem. I like running an oscillating fan in my small home office, which gets very cold when the air conditioning is running. So I have an automation that turns the fan off when the air conditioning is running, and then turns the fan back on when the AC turns off.

  16. This was a little cringy in the blatant Dreo promotion, but I like Dreo products and you gave a lot of good use case ideas and solutions so it was still good. That oven light idea is genius!! I have one of their oil heaters and it kept things so nice and warm this past winter.

  17. That air fryer is pretty sick. For the theater room you can get smart air registers and it’s not too hard to add a duct or if there’s a closet in there, install a return air vent on the closet door, and put a fan in the ceiling to suck the heat out πŸ˜‚

  18. Hi!!!!! Thank you for your videos!!! Are you related to Mr. Gene???!!!!!! He’s awesomeβ™₯️β™₯️β™₯️β™₯️β™₯️β™₯️ sorry for the random inquiry lol

  19. I have a Dreo humidifier (which is awesome btw) and a non-smart fan and they are both great. I def want to add one of the standing smart fans too.

  20. Is the fan that follows you available? Trying to find it on their website but im confused

  21. I use a routine to turn my ceiling fan on/off via it’s smart switch dependent on room temperature. My neighbors in my 55+ community think I’m a genius. Boy, are they fooled. πŸ€ͺ πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

  22. If you need an idea for a future automation video, I have been toying with the idea of automating my blinds based on light, temperature, and presence. For instance, when I am leaving the house I may want certain blinds to open up to help heat the house or closed to cool it depending on the temperature outside vs inside or what rooms are getting direct sunlight. Specifically, when I am away and don’t care as much about the lighting – If it is cold out and the sun is shining directly into a window, I would like it blinds to remain open, but if its hot out and its getting sun I would like the blind closed to keep the house cool. Or when I run my wake automation, I want my bedroom blinds to open, but depending on the time of morning/year the sun will blind me and is very unpleasant. Maybe something you can run with or maybe it’s a bit too personalized to make a video on, but I figured it would be worth throwing the idea out there.

  23. I tried using the discount code and it’s not working, can you look into that? I wanted to use it on the A/C unit, it’s actually the same model you had in the video. I too live in the AZ (Phoenix east valley) and been trying to find a solution for our hot master bedroom. Now I just need to get the bed sensor to have it turn on and off when we go to bed.

  24. I contacted dreo and asked if they had a wall mounted smart fan, sadly they do not.

But if anyone else thinks that might be awesome, contact them!

  25. We have a few Dreo products and they’re terrific. I have a question though, how does turning on a portable AC unit reduce the CO2 level?

  26. Khởi is famous! Holy cow… Was talking with friends at church from Arizona and you came up, and they showed me your channel… Haha good to see you’re doing well man!

  27. I have a bunch of Dreo fans I use in Home Assistant automations. The integration is really nice, I only wish Dreo gave us local device access.

  28. I think Dreo underpaid you for this 12 minute ad. Really didn’t enjoy the video due to so so so much product placement.

  29. OMG, I’m impressed. My home office is about 3-4 degrees warmer than the rest of the house, and I tried adding insulation, tinting the window, and even adding an additional HVAC return from above my computer equipment, still too hot… I also have a portable AC, problem is I don’t have a good place for the exhaust to go. So I have an idea of connecting an exhaust duct to the bathroom exhaust fan that’s right next to my home office. So the only thing I have left to figure out is how to turn that fan on when the AC turns on, and off when the AC stops. Looking into smart plugs with energy monitoring, but can’t find one with automation features from energy usage directly built in. Supposedly that can be done with Home Assistant, so I guess that might be the next step. Curious how you actually automated your stuff…

  30. 11:27 You need to watch β€œScott Prop & Roll” and learn more from him in creating the art of better dad jokes πŸ˜‚
