How to declare you’re beholden to Harbor Freight
try Energizer Industrial
I’m surprised you didn’t compare the shittiest battery "Panasonic" lol
Harbor freight batteries suck. Interesting how it won.
With lithium batteries, at the start it will go down quickly for a little bit then smoothly go down until its really low then drop fast again.
Lithium batteries have different properties to alkaline batteries, in things like high tech applications, cameras, LED torches and the like they can be more reliable, the fan test shows a lower current use and alkaline batteries will do better. For ultra low current uses like clocks or remote controls using lithium batteries is a waste of money and even the worst battery you tested will be good enough. It was interesting to see the tests, the LED torch did show the much slower initial decline in lithium batteries, once they get below about 40% charge they tend to fade a lot faster, it is in the nature of the battery chemistry
Impressive Test dude! Thrilled with the figures you got with cheaper dollar store batts against big brands out there. Energizer Lithium even not lasting the claimed times they say shows a softer decreasing curve of Volts by Time graph. So depending on your purpose may pay the extra money having a heavy duty batt in tha pocket. Thank you, liked and shared.
One problem with your experiment is these cheap fans all will draw various amounts of current.
Chat GPT analyzed the transcript and gave me this….Based on the testing results you described, here is the order of the AA batteries ranked from longest to shortest lasting:
Harbor Freight Thunderbolt Edge – Lasted 7 hours 47 minutes 49 seconds.
Energizer Max – Lasted 6 hours 59 minutes 9 seconds.
Amazon Basics – Lasted 6 hours 33 minutes 52 seconds.
Energizer Ultimate Lithium – Lasted 5 hours 56 minutes 34 seconds.
Duracell – Lasted 5 hours 41 minutes 12 seconds.
Powermax – Lasted 5 hours 5 minutes 46 seconds.
AC Delco – Lasted 3 hours 58 minutes 21 seconds.
Harbor Freight Thunderbolt Magnum – Lasted 3 hours 35 minutes 46 seconds.
In summary, the Harbor Freight Thunderbolt Edge was the best-performing battery in this test, providing the longest runtime at a lower cost compared to others like the Energizer Ultimate Lithium, which was significantly more expensive but did not last as long.
You forgot two brands of batteries
The length a battery will last changes depending on what its in. The fan doesnt use a lot of energy to the harbor freights could be the winner there but try them in something like an xbox controller and they might be the worst of the bunch.
😅😅😅lmao the background picture
not very scientific you should have ran all the fans together with each battery type and averaged. as the fans will all draw different amount of power/friction etc not to mention battery tolerances
Mr.light rechargeable torch MR GD002 review
I have that exact torch, have been using it for years and have also been using Energizer Lithium for years. It’s great if you don’t use it often and need it to be bright/strong for long periods of time. Rechargeable lithium recommended if you’re only using the torch for one night, and need maximum brightness/strength and plan on recharging it within a few days. The rechargeable lithium will lose it’s charge while idle.. where as the Energizer Lithium will hold it’s charge for a really long time while idle. Both are great, it just depends on your use case.
watchin this at work while i chose which one is the best for my xbox controller 😅
Try leaving them shut off in the fans after running for a few minutes. The Duracell will leak and corrode after a few months. That is the test I would want to see.
Holy 6 minute ad batman
Which duracell was this ultra or normal
I like how his graph is such a Tyler graph. Conveys the main point. Terrible font size, no axes titles, x axis unlabelled??
where did you bought fans?
amazon basics looks to be the best value in my opinion
The litium must be defective. It offers far higher mah
I use Amazon battery and now I know they’re actually really good!
All claims on batteries are only ever comparing to their previous versions.
if i used batteries still this would useful to me sadly i do not, still interesting though.
Thanks Tyler, some will buy the Lithium Energiser regardless of the price, especially for non-motor use. I’ll buy Energizer Max (for my remote controls) bacause we don’t have the Thunderbolt Edge is South africa & never again buy the Duracell, ironically in the Zulu language "Dura" mean expensive.. So, expensive cell. Hopefully in the future we’ll have access to affordable long life solidstate AA’ batteries. Thanks again, this was of great important to know, cause we spend a lot of money on these like we do on subsriptions.
Duracell batteries never fail……………to leak. I avoid Duracell batteries like the plague, total garbage, they’ve been like that for years.
The problem with a test like this is barely rotating fan blades are useless (if you want to be cooled down) but on the test it’s "still running". That would be like putting them in a camera mic but the volume is reduced by 50%. Still working, but not working they way a consumer would want.

Thanks!
Test after test, Duracell under performs.
A 5 min sponsorship ad is wild.
I would have to say Harbor freight has dramatically improved Since they’re beginning.
They are without a doubt my favorite tool store
this video should be banned!
I had a big pack of Duracell Max AAs said to last at least 10 years. I had them in my closet for less than 5 years and most of them leaked. NONE of them worked at all. Needless to say, I’ll never buy Duracells again!
Rechargeable versions test please.
Really appreciate your style and your content. Thanks for your hard work! I would like to request an update to the battery test, maybe in the next year or two, including three or four of each individual brand Battery in the fan test.
Are you marketing for harbor freight 😂😂😂😂
The lithium dont performed bad on the fan test, it just that it pushed more power to the fan and ran out faster, also lithium has a different discharge curve as you noted.
Duracell best bet all the time
Rechargeable
Come on…get back to the topic at hand
STOP SAYING "SO"
The only big advantage to lithium is that it can be used in below zero temperatures
Its it me or some running backward. If that’s the case it probably effects battery life.
Fujitsu, Panasonic???
That awkward walk off-camera 😂 15:13
