  1. Are the heavy duty batteries alkaline. I know the Duracells are. When I buy heavy duty batteries from any discount store, the heavy duty ones aren’t alkaline. By the way, Love your channel. Watch a lot of your videos

  2. I would never purchase Duracell batteries again. The unused/new batteries corroded in the packaging on my last two Duracell purchases of Duracell (AA & AAA) batteries. They were stored indoors (controlled temperature/environment) and 2025/2026 shelf life. Nothing worse than having batteries corroded in your previous electronics. On a positive note, I guess it was best they corroded in the packaging. Did not bother contacting Duracell, since there is nothing they can do or say that would change my mind about ever purchasing Duracell again. Buyer beware!

  3. Great info .
How can the companies claim ,a battery will last unopened , 20 years. When a brand hasn’t been available for 20,years . I would buy 20year
    Batteries.

  4. At a TV station I worked at we always used AA Energizer Lithium exclusively in studio lav mics fresh for each broadcast and used only once. Expensive, yes. But as the cheapest component of the whole production it had a huge on-air consequence If it failed. No one was going to let THAT be the thing to unravel a live news show.

  5. Great video! Can you test CR2 amd CR123A. Standard and rechargeable? These batteries are heavily used in optics and cameras. Thanks in advance!

  6. Lets see Dollar General Batteries .13 each.
    Duracell Rather expensive.
I don’t know how to put that in my spreadsheet.
    Very interesting.
    lol

  7. I tested Costco, AC Delco, Sunbeam and IKEA near the end of the rechargeable AA battery video. Thanks for watching! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0A1GvQ40j0Q
Here are the batteries tested in this video. Thank you and best regards, Todd

  8. Packing should make how to dispose of. more prominent. Billions of batteries must be dumped in household waste.

  9. the age of the battery matters a lot also. just like milk look through the packs for the best " use before date".

  10. Lithium batteries are much better in cold environment, such as the remote sensor on an electronic thermometer.

  11. Excellent review of the various AA battery brands! Thank you for providing data rather than unsubstantiated claims!

  12. Hi, can you please test AAA batteries too? Many remote controllers do need them, and some flashlights too.

I heard people say amazon basics and powerowl batteries are dying quickly.

If you need Tronic (Lidl supermarkt) and Active Energy (Aldi supermarkt) batteries to test, please let me know, I can send them over.

  13. I always buy Amazon basic. But I’ve recently thought they are inconsistent on quality. So I was looking to make a switch. Now that I’ve seen this video, I think I will keep buying them. And maybe get the lithium for higher drain items.

  14. Did I miss how long lithium batteries lasted with the fan? I can’t seem to find the results for Powerowl

For now, I’m still buying Amazon basics because I can get them for $0.29 a piece in a 48 pk

I have to change them more often but I can buy 5 of them for the price of 1 power owl.

  15. you take to long only have to drop it ones my battery in my phone where flat by the time you went on about dropping a battery 😅😅😅😅

  16. Todd, I have been a fan of you and your channel. I discovered this video yesterday and just realized that it was made in 2018. I do not expect the older heavy duty batteries to compete against the newer alkaline and lithium batteries. There are many establishments selling their own brand of AA alkaline batteries now (Costco Kirkland, Sam’s Club, Harbor Freight Thunderbolt EDGE,…). I would love to see an updated video.

  17. Rechargeable test PLEASE! So many batteries in the landfill. Introduce Rechargeable batteries, the cheap cost over time and hopefully equal life. I know this video is five years old but….

  18. After watching this (again… love PF!) I realized a major point was left out… power consistency. How does the power band look as they drain. Lithium batteries are generally known for producing near 100% power until completely drained while other types lose strength as they drain.

  19. I’ve heard Ikea batteries offer a good bang for your buck.
Sure, AAA showdown would be nice but I figure will be similar to these.
Different rechargeables might be nice to see.

  20. Ive watched quite a few of Todds videos by now and I have to say, as interesting as the info on batteries is, what’s more interesting is seeing how much progress he has made in the last 6 years at producing these videos. Keep up the good work!
