What is the difference between Intel Pentium vs Core i3 vs Core i5 vs Core i7 vs Core i9 processors? Find out which Intel chip is right for you and which ones you should avoid. This is a super easy guide that covers all the basics.

Remember not all CPU Generations are the same, I have a video that helps clarify this concept as well:

  1. Is i5 13420h or i5 13450hx a better pick for coding and long term(i dont play games) or should i increase my budget by like 100~150$ at least to get for same specs i7 13620h

  2. but it wasn’ always that

Pentium prescott was worse than pentium 4 HT despite being "better" and called "Extreme" lol

just know that i9 7900k is worse than i5 13600k because huge gen change

  4. I have a pentium silver N5000 and 4 GB ram laptop and thank God I added a SSD in it. You may think I am using that for some light tasks like watching videos or office stuff but no, MINECRAFT. Yes I run Minecraft 1.21.4 latest release on that thing with 140 mods that improve performance

  5. slow progress in vids and lack of explanation, they are saying whole different pcs specs and batteries they also show what they are capable but not on heavy games, only fortnite, watch anime and in the end they show someone else gaming, you did not play using any of those cores to prove it yourself, you didnt even play any games as a benchmark on any cores.

  6. I am currently using i5 4th gen I will get i3 when I need a new laptop. I only need a computer for simple PDF tasks, MS Office documents & little web based tasks.

  7. Sir what about N processor
V processor in laptop and core and threads
    P U
    K
    F
    KS
    KF
    Intel ultra core processor
    Intel 200S series

  8. what is the performance of i5 14 gen k series processor and this is enough for windows 11 and essential softwares and light gaming. and sir please tell integreted graphics are present i5 14 gen k seris process. And 2nd 16 gb 2 ddr5 ram stic 6400 MHZ or ddr 4 16gb 2 ram stic 4800mhz in windows 11.SIR PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO IN THIS TOPIC AND CLEARY CONFUSION.PLESE.

  9. I have a celeron N4000 and I use it for animation, game development, and video editing πŸ™ƒ

  10. Good video πŸ™‚ IDK. I use a 13th gen i5 13600 for gaming and complex programming and it’s fine. It’s not the blastest fastest in the world, but I can play modded Witcher III on ultra RT for 1-2 hours before the cpu start being hot and I turn it down to normal RT. Seems to me that the mid to high-mid levels of CPU’s nowadays is enough for most users who have some demand on their system. Plz correct me if I’m wrong with details, I like learning πŸ™‚

  11. I bought used MacBook with i9 because it was really cheap, and its a demon off power… I didn’t think I would be able to play challenging games on 5yo MacBook (I installed windows on half of the ssd) At MacOS its pretty fast and i would like to use it for a few years.

  12. 90% of this video describes how performance is linearly related to the index, i9 being the most powerful and i3 being the least powerful.

  13. I just started looking into a new laptop and was torn between the i5 and i7. Your simple breakdown helped me realize the i5 is best for me. Thanks so much!

  14. If I buy a new laptop with low end CPU, can I transfer my Intel Core i7 from my old laptop into the new one?

  15. What about the Intel Core Ultra 5. How is that different from the chips you reviewed on this video!

  16. Very good video.
    Simply explained.
I should go for i5/i7 on my next machine.
But there is a use case you did not consider is audio.
Though it may look granted, it is not for people dealing with audio/music.
The crackling due to the limits of the CPU are fairly common.

  17. I think you overhyped the processors.

I only have experience with I3-I7. I have observed the I9 in person, but haven’t used it.

I3 is trash and obsolete. You can find uncountable numbers of refurbished ones for under $150. They struggle with multitasking or running multiple tabs. You can’t really "use" them. They are like relics now. If you have a child that demands a laptop over a tablet, but you feel like they will throw it down the stairs for entertainment, this is the kind of laptop you should aim for. The reason why they are so cheap and plentiful is because of the immense stress they cause the user who is just trying to listen to a YT playlist while browsing another tab on amazon, or working on a spreadsheet. This cannot be used for gaming AT ALL.

I5 is usable. It can run some tabs and apps. It can even handle light gaming, but on low settings, and still expect it to be a little slow. It cant handle multiple tasks that require a lot of power. However, if you are using it for the MS/Google suite, doing research online, or light entertainment such as streaming, then it is just powerful enough for your needs. If you have a responsible teen this is what you should give them for their school. It also works well for all the simple office tasks.

I7 is good. The processor power is fast enough to keep up with the graphics card, unlike the I5, where even if you give it better hardware, the I5 processor itself struggles to utilize it all. If you are handling graphic intensive tasks you must get the I7. This means if you want to game daily, are a art/architecture student, or your job requires you to open graphic files like autoCAD or Blender, then you MUST settle for an I7 minimum. The I7 generation has several processors under I7. Most have 2GB of VRAM. Others which cost much more have 4GB. Some were meant for home use, others for business/projects. Something like the Lenovo Thinkpad P52s is meant for home use, light work on graphics/gaming, and meant to last +8 years.

The I9 is overpriced. There is no need to pay so much for a laptop. You are better of with a desktop. The only people I see buying something with an I9 are people with money to spare and have a strange insistence that they must use a laptop. There are alternatives. You can still get a I7 with an eGPU, or rent out VRAM (graphics cards) from a virtual machine to run your games/software. Otherwise, you are better off spending that money on a really nice desktop PC.
