We’ll be slicing through all the hype to get to the core of what makes each headset stand out—or not, depending on your gaming needs. If you’re on the hunt for the best VR headsets for PC gaming or trying to find the top standalone VR headset that doesn’t require a second mortgage, this is the place to be. From Microsoft HoloLens 2’s enterprise-driven focus to the approachable Meta Quest 3, we’ve got a mix that fits every kind of gamer, whether you’re new to virtual reality or a seasoned VR veteran.

Dive into our breakdown of the pros and cons for each contender, like the visually stunning yet wallet-threatening Apple Vision Pro, or the beloved Valve Index with its unbeatable 144Hz refresh rate that makes every VR adventure a thrill. Get a closer look at why the Meta Quest 2 remains a favorite for many as the cheapest way to dive into virtual reality gaming, and how the Samsung Odyssey+ still holds up with its heavenly AMOLED displays despite its age. If you’ve been eyeing anything from the HTC Vive Pro 2’s 5K visuals to the unusual charm of the Pico 4’s price-to-performance ratio, this guide will shed light on what makes each option tick—and which ones might make you ticked off. Trust me, I’m not holding back on sharing which VR headsets I’d actually reach for and which I’d dodge faster than a glitchy VR game.

  1. who needs vr anyway? just step outside and enjoy those real 4K graphics! besides, vr is just a scam to make us all look ridiculous wearing plastic on our faces.

  2. You don’t include the Crystal Light which is an Amazing headset, but you say to buy the HP reverb G2 which will be bricked as soon as theres a windows update?

  3. PSVR2 is an amazing PCVR headset. The fact you didn’t even mention that you can get an adaptor for PCVR use shows you don’t really know much about it. Baby hands are a funny statement as well. I have larger hands than most of my friends and I have zero issue using them. Obviously its not made for huge hands but most things aren’t made for the exception.

  4. idk about y’all but i think vr headsets are just an overhyped version of 3D glasses you’d get from the dollar store. pretty lame to see adults still getting excited over cartoons.

  5. lol meta quest pro takes the crown for being the most overpriced paperweight on the market… who even buys these things to show off in the metaverse? You could get real world glasses at a fraction of the cost and see the same mess 😂

  6. meta quest 3 fans act like they’ve discovered electricity. newsflash: battery life is still as disappointing as ever.

  7. I already annoyed. Give me info not "i hate it cause i cant share it." Like wtf? Not everyone shares there shit

  8. Quest Pro is one of the best PCVR Quest headsets out there. Battery problem? Play plugged in with a cable. Self tracked controllers, local dimming, pancake lenses and face tracking makes it so much worth it.

  9. vr gaming is for ppl who are too lazy to actually go out and play sports. meanwhile, they think they’re athletes coz they beat a rhythm game 😂 kinda sad when you think about it.

  10. people acting like the Quest Pro battery life isn’t terrible – a flashlight powered by a potato lasts longer 💀

  11. all these specs and still no holograms like star wars smh. it’s 2025 and we still can’t even get proper vr without battery panic after an hour.

  12. oculus rift s users out here playing hide-and-seek with replacement parts, it’s discontinued faster than my new year’s resolutions.

  13. A bit eye opening for sure to see how few viable headsets there are currently. Really hope Valve does bring the Deckard to us this year…. I’m expecting it to be a game changer and still decently affordable w a payment plan. 😁😁✌️

  14. PlayStation VR2 is tied down – guess some folks are more than happy to wear electronic leashes for fun.

  16. if you’re still using a dell visor in 2025, you might as well start chiseling your messages on stone tablets too.

  17. Is there any VR headset that I can take out of the box and use without signing up for anything. I just remember me buying my kid one of these headsets and they had to have a Facebook account in order to use it. (At least I think that was the case). Are there any headsets that just work right out of the box without giving any of my personal data. Thanks in advance.

  18. funny how people buy vr headsets thinking it’ll replace real life. spoiler alert, nothing beats real life graphics and interactions, sorry techies!

  19. meta quests? more like meta snooze. why invest in clunky vr when we should be investing in real-world experiences that don’t require batteries? these users must be allergic to sunlight or something.

  20. I think that the library of the Pico4 (Ultra) is not that bad. Some headsets don’t come with a library at all and are more expensive (they only play Steam VR), whereas the Pico4 and Pico4 Ultra can play all. And there is an apk called OVR port which adapts some Quest games to be playable with the Pico4.

  21. who needs vr anyway? just step outside and enjoy those real 4K graphics! besides, vr is just a scam to make us all look ridiculous wearing plastic on our faces.

  22. “The meta quest 2 crisp white design” shows picture of some sort of concept vr that never got released and its BLACK😂

  23. Hololens 2 for gaming? sounds like buying a ferrari to drive to the grocery store… in a snowstorm. great idea!

  24. i’m calling it. five years from now, vr will be collecting dust next to your old nokia phone and fidget spinner collection.

  25. anyone who buys a Valve Index must love living in a spaghetti factory with all those cables. bet they got them tangled for days.

  26. Did you get permission to use Mattvidpro’s voice? If not you are setting your channel up for failure.

  27. vr headsets are such a scam lmao why bother when you can just squint at your phone screen and save yourself a thousand bucks. grown adults playing virtual games is peak embarrassment 😂

  28. honestly, if you’re looking to go broke faster than jumping into crypto, just buy any of these overpriced vr bricks. good luck getting food on the table after that.

  29. lol, seriously who still uses a vr headset in 2025? just wake up and live in the real world for once 😂

  30. MageneX didn’t make it on your list and that’s good because the company Shiftall, hasn’t bothered to deliver my headset that I’ve been waiting over six months for and then made excuses. $2000 gone. Do not deal with that worthless company.

  31. That’s stupid. Tethered to PC is the best possible quality and performance. Discredited

  32. who needs vr anyway? just step outside and enjoy those real 4K graphics! besides, vr is just a scam to make us all look ridiculous wearing plastic on our faces.

  33. PSVR2 is an excellent headset that can be used for PCVR and is much better at it than Meta Quest 3. True blacks, vibrant colours, great OLED contrast and a display port connection blows the MQ3 out of the water. Yet you tell people to buy the Meta Quest 3 for its standalone capabilities which means awful graphics strapped right to your face. I don’t want to see shit from a distance, let alone close up. You also recommend Meta Quest 2 which is completely pointless now the 3 is out. Paid Meta shill 100% confirmed.
