  1. Question. I recently purchased beat making equipment, midi controller, headphones, interface. Since my goal
Is not for singing, can I plug my Vidpro xm55 shotgun mic into my Interface for use with my acoustic guitar and some vocals? I normally use it connected to my DSLR or camcorder.

  2. Thanks for atop notch production. It would be great if more content creators were as competent and helpful, thank you so much. Keep on doing what you’re doing. Well done!

  3. I think it’s important to note that your monitors are rear ported and should be on a slant because you’re bouncing said wave off the wall back in to your own face. The AX7 and their higher (staple) models are front ported so it wouldn’t matter. Slanted monitor pads and some acoustic paneling or a sound blanket would be huge. Also, an SM57 with a tube preamp arguably sounds better than a $200 akg condenser with focusrite “preamps”. You’re really buying a sound card with an interface and not preamps. You’re also showcasing DT770s which last time I bought were $230 bucks. For a $100 the Sennheiser HD280s are a steal and workhorses but Sony MDR7506 I think have a better all around sound with warmer bass, both of which beat out equivalent AKG headphones. The DT770s are good for mixing, master, and low level recording like vocals or acoustic. They aren’t isolating enough for rock drums or loud electric guitar. The HD280s are best for loud drums and guitar, the best for all trades for 100. Sony would be better for beat making and production. The DT770s are when you already have some cans. I’m saying this because you’re showing $250 headphones but an $80 keyboard. I’d say skip the MPK mini and just buy a used MPK 249 as everything about it is better including the velocity which will save you a lot of time in post. Also the DT770s NEED a headphone preamp and the Scarlett gives it just enough to work but plugging them in your laptop or phone is damaging to the speakers in the headphones as the preamp it’s powerful enough and using an under powering preamp is more damaging then an over powered preamp at lower volume

  4. This guy is perhaps the best when it comes to audio learning. Extremely calm, reassuring and knowledgeable. Continue what you’re doing, brother. You’re great.

  5. Awesome information. My intentions are to build my own studio and produce my final recording for music. I don’t know anything about building a studio , I’m a retired international recording artist and want to put out my music. I have no producer so I have to pay for it myself. Thanks for the information. I sing but also play most instrumenst and write my music.

  6. The first video that actually helped me to get setup and working flawlessly (not my playing unfortunately) thank you very much have subscribed!

  7. Just remember the most important thing in your studio is you.
    Writing > Performance > Gear choice > Recording > Mix > Master > Song
If any of those are lacking, the rest following it will be garbage, and it all starts with you

  8. People often forget/ overlook the importance of dedicated solid state or hard drives to help take the load off the computer running the DAW and recording/ processing audio at the same time, as well as power conditioners (similar to surge protectors) that’ll help cut out the noise produced by electricity itself, and protect from your system shutting down entirely in the off chance of a power outage so that you can not only save your gear, but also save your work. Both very important components for home studios in my opinion.

  9. A lil late but this honestly helped me to get an idea of what to get/use I don’t rap or produce music but I got into by my homies that do rap so now I kud start producing n stuff 💪🏆

  10. I’ve never had a really good pair of headphones but I definitely have to check that out. thanks for the video!

  11. do not bother with monitors or acoustic treatment – just get slate vsx instead. mix any time any place anywhere on headphones – it sounds great and your mixes will too!

  12. Is there some sort of software that will really work on a vocal? Say that the person is a little older and their voice has that little quiver in it is something that will smooth that out? I’d like to fatten it up and make it stronger thicker that kind of thing please let me know. You seem to know everything. Thank you so so much.

  13. Hi, I have a question. I want to start doing cover music, but I don’t know where to begin. I have a Samsung laptop, and I’m not sure if it will work for this. I want to do like karaoke recording..

  14. Hi. Thank you for the video and the list. I am looking into opening a small professional recording studio ( 2 studio). Can I still use these same items for that concept or is this more so "home based" . As a new business owner, I’m looking to invest in good products and upgrade my equipment as I grow my business.

    Thank you

  15. definitely a perfect video, the one I was actually looking for. thank you for telling us about whole wiring needs to be use in home studio
